For the last decade I have loved capturing the precious moments that occur on a wedding day. I believe that family heritage is what endures throughout time and being able to show future generations the love that brought you to your wedding day is a beautiful way to illustrate to them the beginning of a legacy you created. I always imagine your future children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren getting an intimate glimpse of who you are by watching your wedding film.
My love of personal documentation started back when I was a child. I was always the girl who would record random family moments on our family VHS camcorder (it was the 90s) and watch them back for hours and hours. As I grew, technology did as well and that big video camera was a lot smaller and more portable. I recorded dates my boyfriend (now husband) and I went on. When we got married I asked a friend to follow us around with his camera and try his best to film us and I would figure out how to edit the footage later. When I was putting the edit together I was so amazed at the process that I had to figure out how to do the filming as well. I am still here ten years later being amazed at how to stitch a couple’s story together in a way that becomes a family keepsake.
